Need to undo rpm -e - Delete package
« on: March 14, 2007, 11:35:53 PM »
Hi,

I am running SME 6.0 and am trying to upgrade to 7.1. In this process I was deleting contrib RPMs to get a 'standard' distro.

Yesturday I incidentally deleted the package 'e-smith-USA-0.3.5-1'. Hence today I can nolonger send and receive e-mail.

Is there any way I can rollback this package onto the system? I do not have a backup as I hit the backup file-size barrier of 3.99 GB. So this is not an option.

If there is no way of rolling back the package - who might be able to provide me with the rpm in the same version, so I can reinstall it.

Please help. This is a production platform and the users are getting very frustrated....

Thanks

Don't play with production servers, do your upgrade testing on test servers first.

You have probably broken the mail delivery path. You will need to make db changes, refer to the antivirus howto and do some reverse engineering to undo changes that the contrib made. The howto & package you believe you want is here
