FuzzyOcr Setup
« on: February 28, 2007, 07:04:24 AM »
Moving from bugzilla to the forum so I can ask more questions.  I have these RPMS installed from smetest.  Did a post-upgrade and reboot.  Is there anything else that needs to be done to set this up?  I am currently tailing /var/log/qpsmtpd/current and /var/log/spamd/current for Fuzzy to see if anything invokes it.

Thanks,

John

It just works

to confirm look at the email headers
- is the mail sent through SA
- tests=EXTRA_MPART_TYPE,FUZZY_OCR,......

are you automatically deleting spam at a low level
then you may not see the spam

Yep, just a little impatient on my part.

Hi

I just installed FuzzyOCR last night using smetest and did the usual signal-events & reboot...

Am I supposed to see this sort of Header in all mails? Or only on the ones with Image-Spam?

 tests=EXTRA_MPART_TYPE,FUZZY_OCR,......

So far no problems, but I still can't see if anything's broken or working yet.

I'm running 7.1.2, Spamlevel is 3, delete at 8...

Thanks

I've installed this on a production email server and in the last two days have not received a single bmp SPAM trying to sell me stocks or other things that I really don't need or want to know even exists.   I did receive 5-10 of those spams a day even after spamassassin blocked about 100 spams in my account.    It is worth the install.  However, make sure you spend the time to upgrade to 7.1.2 first.  It took me a good while to get everything applied for the update in the right order, etc.  but once it was done the server is working much more efficiently

Thanks to everyone in the SME world for working on a good product.

I had this installed on a 7.4 Production server, which was Scanning mail and passing on to Exchange 2003, and mail was going missing, between the SME and SBS 2003.

It appears the FuzzyOcr was removing mail that had an image as a signature..but now as i want to remove it, I get the following that it wants to remove e-smith dependencies, whcih I know will break it..

How do I disable the FuzzyOcr in Spamassassin??

Shawn

I don't know, perhaps if you show us the installation instructions you followed we can. I do not have fuzzyOcr installed.

It's been suggested for removal.
