SME6 - client http request denied
« on: December 13, 2007, 12:59:07 PM »
I know i should be using 7.x and I'm in the process of moving over to another server I've setup and am testing but I'm not quite ready so....

I can get access to the internet from the server, both ping and web, everything appears normal. From outside I can pull up the webpages and email works inside or out. However, from local the clients, I can't browse the web. I can ping both IP and domain name but can't use either to get a page to show. I restarted the server and did notice an IP Masquerading failure but when I restarted again, that error did not show up. I can't find anything in the logs except for an entry which says client denied on a http request. This started tonight when I tried to do a backup remotely. The backup to file would start but quit after only a few Mb with a server disconnection notice. I have been hit pretty hard by intruders but the logs don't show any having success. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Have you looked for free disk space??
Free inodes could cause this too!
A squid.log file bigger than 2Gb too. Try to restart squid to see if it´s working.

Good luck

Thanks for the suggestion but late last night I decided to bite the bullet and upgrade.
