remote admin with https already forwarded

Morning again,

As I am not always in the office, I wish to setup remote access.
From readings this can be done and have set the remote management ip addresses.
Unfortunately we use https in our application and the port is forwarded to our web server.
As a result if not in the office and https://sme ipaddress/server-manager it is forwarded and page is not found.

Does this mean that I can only use ssh and log in as admin to use the character configuration, or can the system to be modified to get the web admin.

TIA

valdis,

If you are using Putty to ssh into you SME computer, you can set up a tunnel. Use port 980 for both local and remote, and use 127.0.0.1 as the tunnel ip. After you establish the ssh connection, and point your browser to http://127.0.0.1:980. You will be prompted for the user name and pasword for system-manager.
If you think you know whats going on, you obviously have no idea whats going on!
