Kronolith on 7pre3
« on: February 24, 2006, 02:38:40 AM »
I have installed Kronolith on 7pre3 (thanks Greg Swallow for the rpm's)
My server name was sme7.local
So in Kronolith my user name was "MyName"@sme7.local. I have entered several entries into calendar and I shared the calendar so all the users are able to view the entries.
Now I have changed my server name to "MyDomain".com so now automatically my kronolith name is "MyName"@"MyDomain".com
But when I look at shared calendars I still see "MyName"@sme7.local

My Question is, how can I delete the @sme7.local username in Kronolith since it does not show up in server-manager any more?

That is probablly still in the kronolith conf files somewhere from when you initially did the kronolith configuration.

Can you check your /var/log/messages and see if you get any errors when clicking on calendars?  I am getting this:
Feb 25 22:42:29 test70-4 httpd: PHP Notice:  unserialize(): Error at offset 0 of 4 bytes in /home/httpd/html/horde/kronolith/lib/base.php on line 99
Feb 25 22:42:29 test70-4 httpd: PHP Warning:  Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/httpd/html/horde/kronolith/lib/base.php on line 101
Feb 25 22:42:29 test70-4 httpd: PHP Notice:  unserialize(): Error at offset 0 of 4 bytes in /home/httpd/html/horde/kronolith/templates/menu.inc on line 2
Feb 25 22:42:29 test70-4 httpd: PHP Warning:  Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/httpd/html/horde/kronolith/templates/menu.inc on line 43

I am asking because I have been working on trying to get the latest version of Kronolith working on pre3.  It seems to work, but I see these errors in my log.

Thanks,

John Bennett

Your errors are different from mine.  Yours looks like you have install an e-smith-kronolith rpm and it's trying to load the mysql stuff and is failing.

I think my issue my have something to do with the php version shipping in SME7 and trying to run the current stable release of Kronolith.  I have posted a question on the kronolith list.  If I stay with Kronolith 2.0.3, then I don't get the errors I have mentioned.  I'll have to test with 2.0.4 and 2.0.5 and see what happens.  Also, SME7 has the CGI version of php installed and not the cli version, so calendar reminders won't work as the CLI version is required for this.

Are you running this on a test server?  I have completed the RPM's for Nag, Mnemo, and Horde 3.0.9,  and they seem to work fine on my test servers.  If you want , you could test those for me as well, before I make a general annoucement.  I also have an e-smith-kronolith that you could test as well.  You would need to make sure to remove the cron job for HordeReminders since they won't yet work due to the PHP version.  You'd need to remove the current one you have.  I am also assuming you have increased the rights to the horde database for kronolith since you have been working with Greg.  Mnemo needs this as well.

That is strange, I have not noticed any problems when working with Kronolith. First time I knew of any problems is when you asked me to search log files.

I also used Gregs RPM's to get the nag and mnemo to work ( I did have to configure it manually to work as Gregs RPM's only install, no configuration)

So the versions of programs I have installed are:

kronolith-h3-2.0.3-1sme01.noarch.rpm
mnemo-h3-2.0.1-1sme01.noarch.rpm
nag-h3-2.0.2-1sme01.noarch.rpm

Yes, this is all on a test server, so I can test your version also.
I have not been working on this with Greg personally, I have just followed Gregs and other peoples instructions on how to get it to work.

I don't seem to have any funtionality problems, either, except for the additional log noise and  the reminder events not working.

I have piggy-backed off of Greg's RPMs to update the modules to the current stable releases and created the necessary e-smith-xxx rpms for the template fragment creation.

I'll have to delay this, now.  Talking with the Devs, I need to make some changes as to how I was detecting that a package was installed.  So, when that I complete.  I'll repost as well.

I am not much of a programmer, so I can't help you with programming. But if you need help with something else ie. testing, research, etc.. let me know.

Thanks

PS. I have checked out your family web site, good looking family.

PS. I have checked out your family web site, good looking family.

Thank you.  They keep me very busy.

I've just uploaded SME 7 RPM's for Kronolith, Nag, Mnemo, and Gollem to http://mirror.contribs.org/smeserver/contribs//jbennett/sme7/

Thanks goes to Greg Swallow for getting these started.

There were some older ones in these directories, so give the mirrors time to sync.

Here are some additional details you need to know to do.

Grant the horde user additional rights

From the console or ssh console

Code: [Select]

mysql

GRANT SELECT , INSERT , UPDATE , DELETE , CREATE ON horde . * TO 'horde'@'localhost';
flush privileges;

exit

Modify gollem default template
Code: [Select]

cd /etc/e-smith/templates/home/httpd/html/horde/config/registry.php
pico -w 620AppRegistryGollem

change gollem to active
change gollem-block inactive

Code: [Select]

signal-event post-upgrade ; signal-event reboot

For gollem to work
server-manager/remote access
ftp settings
Allow access only from local networks
Accept password only from local networks

gollem
Defaults to users home dir, but users can click on root and see other users dir can't currently find a way to not allow access to root

kronolith reminders won't work because of php version included in SME7/CentOS 4.2.  It's the CGI version instead of the CLI version.

You need to also install the appropriate smeserver-xxx rpm.  That is where the configuration templates are.  Then you need to signal-event post-upgrade ; signal-event reboot.

The appropriate mysql tables will then be created.  By default, you can not modifiy the configuration via the webgui.  If you install my updated horde info, then you could login to webmail, and access the administrative screen to look at your config.  But, you still will not be able to save any changes.  You will have to manually update the template files, just like you would with any other configuration items on SME.

You can do a rpm -qpil xxx.rpm --changelog | more to see what changes have been made.  I have included verbage that should be self-explanatory.

HTH,

JB
