I'd like to modify the "default" after hours behaviour of SAIL but not too sure what is the best way to go about it. What I'd like to do is just setup a simple personalised greeting similar to "You've reached the office of x.y.z Sorry we're not available to take your call, please leave a message after the tone" then have asterisk play a tone and record the message. Is it best to setup a custom application or rather use the multi level IVR. I've recorded the greeting and I know that I have to set it up in the CLOSED inbound route for the incoming trunk, but just not too sure how to stick it all together. Many Thanks
Lloyd

Hi Lloyd,

Hope you are well.  Best to use IVR.  You've already done most of it by the sound of things.

1.  - Record your closed message using *60*nnnn, or you can use the default (it's in the Trunks "Closed" dropdown if you have 187).
2. - Create the IVR actions for your message. The default plays a message and then simply drops to the operator's voicemail.
3. - Set the closed times in automation.

That's it.

Kind Regards

I can't get this to work, it keeps playing the message over and over and never goes to voicemail. Here's what I've done from scratch.
1. Record a greeting "You've reached x.y.z sorry....." and call this 9219
2. Create an IVR menu item called x.y.zafterhours with the greeting set to 9219. Don't need any IVR actions so I've left all those fields blank.
3. Goto trunks -> Modify -> zaptel and change the CLOSED inbound route from "operator" to IVR Menu item "x.y.zafterhours"
4. Test but the 9219 message keeps playing over and over. It never goes to voicemail
In the IVR menu there is a "timeout option" which is set to "repeat message" If there was a timeout option called goto to voicemail I think it would work but the only timeout voicemail option is to "retrieve" voicemail.
Regards Lloyd

Hi Lloyd,

Looks like a bug the size of a small elephant.  We'll sort this properly for you in the morning (in about 12 hours).  It doesn't look like a big hack.

Kind Regards

Hi Lloyd,

We've just put 190 up onto the ftp server and it fixes your problem with a new entry in the drop down "leave voicemail".

Cheers
