Snoopyski,

Did some testing with eGroupWare 1.2. Installation works great. But still some errors in the enviroment.

RC7:

Like in FelaMiMail there is no option tot make new maps for mail, the senditems box does not work and new made maps are not show in the e-mail list. Renaming of maps fails and so on.

The calander works fine only the notification e-mails are not sent bij the smtp program.

I dont know id this is a problem with RC7 or with the ported files for SME 7RC1.

I hope that you can help me out with those problems.

------

PS. is there a SRPM and RPM unther development for SME 7?

Hello,

We fine no problems on my side !!!

Do you setup some thing in the emailadmin section ? I think your problems come from here...

Let me know,

Snoopyski

PS. Check your SMTP server config in the config setup...http://IPAddresse/egroupware/setup

THX,

Imap maps are working right now. I still think its a bug because i had to do some tricks.

First of all i connedcted outlook with the IMAP SME Server. I saw the 2 maps (inbox and spam) in Egroupware only Inbox was shown and the spam map didnt had a name it was only a blank dirpicture.

In outlook i removed the 2 maps and made 4 new ones (2 worked also fine) and whalla i see in Egroupware all the 4 maps.

The notification e-mails are also send out fine (did some messing with the SMTP of SME server).

I only have 2 requests. Is it possible tot port the users/passwords out of the SME Server to Egroupware and is there a S/RPM untherway? I think 90% of your howto is bassed on standard thinks everybody has to do. Only the setup part is not the same on every server (admin password etc) but the dirs and temps are on every installation at the same place.

----

My last question is if its possible to make a link tot egroupware. I mean my users are now using <<servername>>/webmail on my testserver i disabled the webmail but i want to link the /webmail to /egroupware. Somebody has a solution for that?

Hello Snoopyski el al,

I have no problem installing and running eGroupware.  In fact this is my nth attempt to do so in the past 12 months.  (SME 6.01 upgraded to "Plus")

My question is, all modules seem to be working fine but whenever I upload documents via either "mydms" or "file manager", the PHP seems working o.k. without error and yet nothing gets transferred over to the server.

Meanwhile I can create text documents (via "file manager") and I can create sub-folders via both "mydms" and "file manager".  I also tried installing eGroupware on an Wintel box and everything works fine including file upload.

Does anyone experience the same problem as mine?  All coments/suggestions are welcome.  Thanks.

Regards,

/YC:yc

The upload problem seems to be a common thread running through discussions of document managers, CRMs, etc. on SME.  I've been bitten by this myself recently trying to install a collaborative document management system and so far haven't found "the" or even "a" solution.  Like you, I found that the PHP script would report success but the file would not be actually uploaded, even using the whole path in the script (/home/e-smith/files etc.) and chown www:www on the upload folder ... I've seen some discussions of php basepath but have broken a couple of test installs fiddling with that!

Too bad because I personally like eGroupware a lot.   On the other hand Openxchange also has DMS and so far it seems usable enough that I am willing to release it to my users for a test spin.

Cheers,

If your after a good DMS why don't you try Knowledge Tree ... it's free and runs of a windows machine or Linux and is a lot better then the one on Openxchange or the one on egroupware.

I'm runing it in a work environment and has been great ... has version control permissions history and a lot more features ... it's more like a DMS should be.

Hello,

Thanks for the recommendation, I will most certainly test drive it just in case in the future my users want a full flag dms.  In the mean time all they want is to be able to post something for everyone to download, something like a group dumping group if you will, so OX looks good becuase they can do this and check their emails and calendars etc all within the same web app.

But like I said Knowledge Tree looks good so I'll most definately give it a try.  Thanks.

Cheers,

How are you getting PEAR to work.
« Reply #9 on: April 24, 2006, 04:18:33 PM »
Hi,

I've got the basic installation working, but when I check_install it shows that PEAR isn't installed:

https://server_ip/egroupware/setup/check_install.php

Checking PEAR is installed: False or Faux
PEAR is needed by SyncML or the iCal import+export of calendar.
PEAR::Log is needed by SyncML. You can install it by running: pear install Log

PHPSYSINFO shows:
--with-pear=/usr/share/pear'
include_path=.:/usr/share/pear-addons:/usr/share/pear

Am I messing a step, or something basic.... or are you guys not using SyncML?

York,

Thanks... I just saw that a few minutes ago... having a little trouble with it on 7RC1, but I'll post that on the other thread.
