How to stop freshclam?
« on: March 31, 2006, 07:21:25 PM »
Allright this sounds silly but the son of a b... fills my fw logs.
The SME server is in a protected network routersepareated and with an extra fw wich logs are filled.
The update functions freshclam is the one we have not found out to disable in a nice way.
We also tried to un installed Clam compleatley but the dependency checker in YUM havent we found out how to disable not getting rid of 44 other packages.

Ideas?

Well I've got no idea what an "FW" is and why fresclam would be logging to it but for the record:
To show the current status of freshclam:
#config show freshclam
The default action of freshclam is to run everyday during office hours.
To change this do:
#config setprop freshclam FreqOffice never
Or to disable freshclam completely
#config setprop freshclam status disabled
After making changes you will need to do:
#signal-event email-update

Thanks

I havn't learned the stopping, changing, adding, configuring theory of SME but i will. Thanks to all kind answers of my silly questions in the forums. Ofcourse your tip but me back on track.

FW ( FireWall ) in this configuration are an ordinary Cicso in my testlab.

Thanks again
