Hi,

I want to set up and run a Quake 4 Dedicated gameserver on my SME 7.0rc1

For this I need usershell access, as I don’t want the Quake 4 Server to be run by root.

I’ve downloaded e-smith-usershellaccess-0.1-5.noarch.rpm from http://www2.cddc.vt.edu/linux/distributions/smeserver/index.php?subdir=contribs%2Fdungog%2Ffiles%2Fsme7&sortby=date

But trying to install the contrib I get the following error:

[root@server sme_7.x]# rpm -ivh e-smith-usershellaccess-0.1-5.noarch.rpm
Preparing... ########################################### [100%]

file /etc/e-smith/templates/etc/rssh.conf from install of e-smith-usershellaccess-0.1-5 conflicts with file from package e-smith-openssh-1.12.0-01

Any suggestions?

You may want to try...

rpm -Uvh instead of rpm -ivh as you want to upgrade rpm not install

If it still doens't work then report that to the bug tracker under the contribs section

Thanks, but:

[root@server sme_7.x]# rpm -Uvh e-smith-usershellaccess-0.1-5.noarch.rpm
Preparing...                ########################################### [100%]
file /etc/e-smith/templates/etc/rssh.conf from install of e-smith-usershellaccess-0.1-5 conflicts with file from package e-smith-openssh-1.12.0-01
[root@server sme_7.x]#

I’ll raise a bug.

you need to go to dungog.net and download the appropriate rpm for sme 7.  The one you are trying to install is for sme 6.

http://sme.dungog.net/packages/smeserver/7.0/i386/html/index_dungog.html

smeserver-remoteuseraccess is what you want.
