Sipura ATA set-up for SAIL/Asterisk
« on: March 19, 2006, 01:56:55 PM »
Hi everyone.

A lot of you have asked us for advice on setting up Sipura ATA's for SAIL and asterisk.

We have put a new rough-guide on the wiki and you can find it here...

http://selintra.com/docs/cgi-bin/view/Main/SipuraSetup

Initially it deals with the spa3K, but we will update it with the other Sipura devices shortly.  Please please please, feel free to register and add your own comments/sections to the wiki.  That's what it's there for.

Kind Regards

Selintra

I noticed in your guide you have it setup on Sail 2.1.11.

Will the setup still be the same in 2.1.10-116 ... as you have the selection as SPA-3000FXS and FXO ... I will try it when I get home ... just wondering thats all.

I guess also when do you expect 2.1.11 to be released.

Tib

Tib,

With .116 create a new IP Device SPA-3000FXO and make it a SIP device.

Should work fine.

This is only needed if you want to hang an analogue phone off the phone port of the SPA3k and use it as a sip extension.

Hello Tib,

We hope to get 2.1.11 up onto the ftp server before the end of the week.  The initial documentation for most of the new panels (multi level IVR and Custom Applications) has already gone up onto docs (www.selintra.com/docs), so you might want to check them out.

Kind Regards

Hi ppl,

Well I downloaded and installed the latest ver's of the sail rpm's.

And I must say ... very nice job selintra ... I am now able to route through the sipura3000 and use the PSTN line.

I only setup the pstn part so far ... as soon as I get back I'll change the Line1 part and test incoming calls etc .... I have to say again ... Very nice setup.

Selintra .... In your "Sipura ATA's and IP device setup" section you may want to mention that to make calls through the sipura3000 as PSTN calls there has to be routes setup with a dial plan ... many new ppl won't know this and will wonder why they cant make a call using the pstn setup..

One other thing ... where can I find a list off dial plans or examples compatible with asterisk. I'm really keen to route all my calls through asterisk now instead of through the SPA3000.

Regards,

Tib

Hi guys,

One problem I seem to be having at the moment is that my phone rings every approx 3 mins for a split second ... seems to be when the sipura3000 re-registers ... every 180 secs approx.

Is there a way I can stop this happening with some settings or do I have something not quite right.

Regards,

Tib,

Hello Tib,

So, you discovered the dreaded SIP3000 "chirrup"  :-) .  It's not re-registering Tib, it's telling you there's a voicemail message in your inbox.  Some Nobel prize winning candidate at Sipura obviously thought it was a good idea to blip the phone bell every 3 minutes when there is an unopened message.  Imagine a room full of 'em!  To turn it off, log into the sipura and choose "User 1"  from the tabs at the top.  In the section "Supplementary Service Settings", set message waiting to "no".  The other way to do it, and we haven't tried this ourselves, is to drop the sip3K from a 10th floor window. :-)

Kind Regards

Thanks Selintra,

Well that didn't work ... It would'nt stay on "no" it just automatically reverts back to "yes".

I just turned off the phone base station volume for now and it stops ... luckily the hand hald units don't chirp.

Looks like I might have to take option2 and get a TDM4000 card

Tib

Teach me to be flippant!  I'm the only one in today (its Saturday so only the boss is working - wasn't it alway so?).  I'll have a play with our test unit and see if I can get it to start chirrupping again.  Then I'll know how to turn it off (10th floor window still looks a distinct possibility).

Chirrupping

Set "VMWI Ring Splash len" in "User1"  to zero (it's near the bottom of the page).

Thanks for the positive comments Tib, they're really appreciated.  We don't have a donations setup.  However, you can help by using the product and letting us know of any bugs you find. If you would like to do more then send an e-mail to admin@selintra.com detailing your set-up, what you like/dislike about the product and perhaps, how it compares with other Asterisk GUI's you may have tried.  That will help a lot in determining where we go next.

Thanks again
