Hello,

I'm SME newbie  and need to install Trac
http://www.edgewall.com/trac/ on SME 7pre4. I would
like to hear if anybody already have done it.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Bamb

I think you're also forgetting you need an install guide for Subversion! since Trac provides the project management aspect for it.

I've managed to install Subversion, old version though, on a Pre4 SME7 box and works well with Tortoise SVN.  However, setting up Trac I've managed to use the tracd daemon to provide the Web frontend but not tie it to the Apache process.

Would be interesting if any one could shed some light on this?

I would presume creating a custom file in /etc/httpd/conf.d/trac.conf creating a virtualhost directive would help? add a trac aliase for cgi-bin etc, etc.

I might take another stab at it later this week.

Thanks Charlie.

I did a manual install by RPMing files as needed from Pbone from Centos.  I didn't feel comfortable at the time using the repos, just in case I broke something internal to SME.
