sorry my mistake it is 6.0.1, the contribs community release
The backups were taken via the server-manager panel (from the 6.0 box ) and restored in the same way on the 6.0.1. I rebooted the system after restoring as prompted to by the server-manager panel.

There are a lot of
tcpserver end: status 13 messages, I don't know what this means and have been unable to find out so far but am starting to think that this may be part of the problem?
