Upgrade from 7.0 to 7.2
« on: October 20, 2007, 11:07:44 PM »
I have upgraded using a CD from 7.0 to 7.2.  At boot the server stops after load HAL Daemons.  I found that it is stopping at S99local which load e-smith-service.  I remove it and the server works.  What do I miss by eliminating this S99local or the e-smith-service.  all looks OK

It might look OK, but this is unexpected behavior. Certainly removing services like this is not a proper solution.

Did you follow the upgrade information in the wiki? If you did follow the information under CD upgrade to the letter you are advised to file a bug report and have the developers help you sort out what goes wrong.
