unable to update or backup
« on: January 31, 2006, 07:11:35 AM »
after a new install of SME 7pre1, I tried to update via the web interface and everything seems ok, the system reboots, but it doesn't appear that anything has been updated.
If I try a yum update from the shell, I get the following:

I have tried a post-upgrade etc and no luck...

I am also having trouble with backups to desktop, I get a "Error occurred during pre-backup actions." I am a bit worried because I think my current backup is corrupt...

Please help

followup:

I have manually updated the packages waiting for install, but I cannot download any more packages.
How can I check my repositories?
    that sounds quite uncomfortable  ;)

thanks

Hi,
I've the same problem and found no answer up to now on french forum IXUS.
I don't know how to manage yum repositories ...
have a look on /etc/yum.conf but ... I don't know what's wrong

I'm ready to learn.

thanks.

The only place it will be useful for you to report problems with 7.0pre1 (which is a test release) is in the Bug Tracker. Link is to the left of this page.

Ok,
I think it's already done  :

I don't see anything there about problems with backup to desktop.

I backed up my i-bays to another machine via network, then nuked and reinstalled 6.5.
I guess I will have to wait for SME 7.....
and it only took me a day to reconfigure the machine the way I had it....

Still a bug?

I'm not seeing any resolution to this, and I am having this problems now using  SME Server 7.0. I tried to update thru the admin CP and get an error and now cannot backup to desktop. I could backup before trying the updating process, but now cannot. Should I just wipe it and reinstall, then not backup, or is this bug being worked on?
