Hi AaronG,

RKHunter stands for Root Kit Hunter and what is does is: automatically check our system every day for root kits or other stuff that could allow an attacker to compromise your server. The message you receive are the results of it's run and at the botom you'll find a summary.

There could be some messages about vulnerable applications but i believe that is because they are patches by the developers of SME, if you use the OpenVPN you could get a message about a promiscuous interface but i don't think that will do any harm either. But i'm still a newbie on Linux and SME myself so if you wanna be sure: search the forums for more answers!

Kind regards,
jester.

Thanks Jester!

That is a great feature. i am really impressed with version 7. They seemed to have included some nice features as standard. Admittedly i am using only a fraction of its features, mainly as a mail server - but it is ROCK SOLID.

I need to learn what is going on under the hood a bit more. I have difficultiy just using a SSH session and navigating directories etc. I am 5 exams in my MCSE but linux is pretty foriegn to me. Probably because you just setup them up once and leave them in the corner and forget that they are there. Because they have no problems

Well thanks again Jester.
