to the community,
if you would like to hear your huge music library stored at your home server while being at work, establish a webradio stream or have something similar in mind,  I put the puzzles together. I put a small and short howto as well at the site http://schwarzecker.homelinux.net/index.php in the FAQ under the section iTunes.
In short terms for such a construction you need a streaming server, the one I choose was icecast. http://www.icecast.org and a streaming client, this is that part of software you might use to be able to place the stream (mp3 or ogg files or the microphone input) to the server,  where I choose muse http://muse.dyne.org/.
Finally to listen the musicstream you need an application to connect to your new streaming server, whereas I choose iTunes on my Mac.
Of course you have alternatives to choose from. The needed software I was not able to find on the CentOS mirrors I packaged to rpms to be used with SME Server 7.0beta1 to be found at http://schwarzecker.homelinux.net/index.php in the section downloads. Roughly to say this are icecast itself, muse, libogg, libvorbis, libtheora, libsndfile, libshout, lame and some others to be found at some mirror from CentOS4.1.
After browsing through the configuration files and putting the songs in the directory to be played off, starting the streaming server you should be able to listen your music. This rouhgly should take half an hour. Even radiobroadcasts are possible now with the SME Server mixing music and your input from the microphone together like a DJ. The "mixing studio PC" can be either any Linux, Mac or Windows machine where the source client software runs or the SME server itself with command line interface software like muse.

Enjoy the fun of listening your own webradio or your own musicstore and have a joyful rest of day
Gerald

Hi

If you add the dag repository - then all of those packages (except muse and icecast) can be added via yum.
