7.0 beta - which one to dnld?
« on: August 30, 2005, 03:06:29 PM »
Probably dumb question, but when I follow the link to the dnld for the 7.0 beta, I see two .iso's there that I could grab.  This is the link that I'm getting directed to:

http://mirror.contribs.org/smeserver/releases/7/iso/

smeserver-7.0beta2.iso
smeserver.iso

Both are, according to the date and time stamps, and file size -  the same thing.  I believe that I already grabbed the one labeled as .0beta2 and couldn't get it installed as one of the archives coming off of the cd was apparently bad.  ( I didn't bother checksum'ing it, nor did I do the scan media thing either as I was kinda rushed at the time that I was going to look at it... )  So...  I'll dnld again later after getting out of work, but figured that I'd throw this out prior to dnld'ing all over again - which one??  ;)

Thanks...

So you can bother to ask people for help, but you can't bother to check if your download is valid, and you already know how to do that too !! ???
Maybe we are all too "kinda rushed" to answer you !!

Ray...  don't be such a dork.

Lets see:

Download "that file" (3 words worth of typing)

                    * OR *

"So you can bother to ask people for help..." yadda, yadda, yadda...  and finished off with the beautiful "Maybe we are all too "kinda rushed" to answer you !!"

Hmmmm...  couldn't have been to rushed then, eh?  ( Mate? )

Needless to say...  I got a good copy of it dnld'd and now have it up and running.  Thanks for the help (NOT).

Typical reaction from someone who is too lazy to check their own download but expects others to give advice.
So you don't like someone saying to you that they are too busy to give you advice, but you quote that excuse as a good reason why you should be asking for advice ????

I was trying to reinforce the need for you to check what you do before asking for advice.
I felt that was the best advice for me to give, and it was the advice I wanted to give.
That point seems to have gone right over your head.
