Hello all,

i already post in general forum but nobody can't help me. hope your guys with a lots experience can help me

i would like to add new hdd to my sme box.
My problem is when i insert this command

/dev/hdc1 /data-bank/files vfat uid=techzone,gid=executive,mode=775 1 2

and reboot my sme box it change to mode 755 and only me can write into it. but all my user in group executive can't write it.

i need that all user in executive/5010 group can re-write.

anybody can help me.

What is the purpose of this new disk? Do you want to use it for user data or ibays?

Why do you want to use vfat and not ext3?

Also why the specific g/uid?

Firstly, my second hdd 80 GB already contained data around 60 GB. Before this. it's is located at our windows2000 server. Until myself found SME Server and change Windows2000 to SME Server. This 2nd hdd is like sharing folder in ibays but it write depend how our permission. This hdd is in fat32 and ntfs. if i have another hdd or spare hdd i already convert the hdd into ext3. but now i don't have any choice rather to use fat32.

i try to follow a guideline in this contribs but fail to works as it look like. from my eperience in linux 9.0 i should give a permission to other than root. it's work in that disto. but now i fail to make it into sme server.

i also try using umask also didn't work.

Hi guys,

i have solve my problem ... i manage to buy another hdd to put it together with sme and my old hdd is my backup hdd.   $$$ hehehe

but now i got another problem ... i just follow step by step in this url. http://mirror.contribs.org/smeserver/contribs/mblotwijk/HowToGuides/AddExtraHardDisk.htm.
but my problem now ... why i can't browse using internet explorer something like http://mybox/jukebox/files/ or http://mybox/files/jukebox/ after i make symlink to the ibays folder

my ibays (samba) work great

is there any mistakes or i left behind.
