cc_skavenger, if iptraf was spartan for you, you always can use ntop, from ntop.org, this will give you a beutiful web graphics. Searching at
www.pbone.net for redhat 7.3 give me these results:

1) download it
2) install with rpm -Uvh ntop....
3) configure on /etc/ntop.conf
4) run ntop from the command line to give de admin password
5) stop with CTRL-C
6) run formaly with #service ntop start
7) access the web interface at
http://your ip:3000
