"Local networks" in SME not working......
« on: December 09, 2004, 09:04:47 PM »
I believe there might be a problem with how the sme server is controlling which network are allowed to access the server if connected through a vpn connection. The sme server does not supply the vpn tunnel, it´s supplied by a D-Link 804hv router.

I cannot connect to the servers ibays from an vpn tunnel, but there is no problem when the client has an IP that is on the local network.

Has anyone experienced the same ?

Yes I can easily ping the servers ip.
I would like to make a link to one of the servers ibays, so the client can access the folder. I try to use:
net use x: \\"server ip"\"folder name" "password" /user:"username"

"net use" just reply that the network is not available.

and which IP range do you get from the D-Link router? Did you add this range (if different from the eth0 range) in local networks?

yes i added the network address range 192.168.11.0 which i am getting from the d-link router,
when i added this network range under local networks, i added it with the ip of my router, which is 192.168.10.1
Is that the correct way to do it ?

Yes, that should be the right way. Try to type "route" in the shell and post it - maybe something didn't go right. Are you "just" trying to access a single SME box via VPN and is it running server or server-gateway?

i will post the output of "route" tomorrow.
The server is a "server-only" and yes i am just trying to access a single sme box
