Epia 5000 driver for LM Sensor
« on: October 09, 2004, 04:12:34 PM »
Does anyone have the vt8231.o driver file needed to get LM Sensors working with my VIA Epia 5000 board?
I have searced, googled and compiled latest LM Sensor 2.8.8, but it is not there. I don't know if i do it correct, but it compiles other drivers, but not the vt8231.
I found one on VIA's site but it doesn't seem to be the right format. When typing "modprobe vt8231" i get "modprobe: Can't locate module vt8231"

I am running V 6.0.1-01.
Can anyone help?

OK, i compiled the LM Sensor package again and this time it compiled the driver file, so i got it now. I did as described in: http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=22018.msg87198#msg87198

Hi

I've got the same problem at the moment with the vt8231.o on my new epia800 with SME 6.0.1-01.
Could you send me the file, if you have compiled it with a kernel 2.4.20-18.7 ?
You can send it to :

thx

Sorry... I don't have it anymore.

I did a new SME install and didn't install LM sensors again. I came to the conclusion that it really isn't wearth the effort, most of the values it gave me was completely off, something to do with the configuration files and the way values are calculated.
But try to compile again, i did and the file was there.

Any news about vt8231.o in SME6 or SME7 ?

I think I´ll have to  find a  programmer to "rent" some time ... hehehe.

I noone has done this work for SME yet... I´ll try again.
Once when I was SME6 I tryed... no luck... now I´m on SME7... will try again!
