Hi,
Does anyone know whether 5.6 can be used with public IPs on the local interface? Basically, half a class-C subnet is ours, and we want it screened from the internet. This situation requires routable IPs for a number of reason I won't go into.
The client is interested in replacing a generic Linux box running the Shorewall firewall package that does the job perfectly now, but they are looking for a number of the features the full SME install has, like subnet-subnet VPN, Apache and PPTP.
I'd also like to hear from an official Mitel engineer on whether this type of configuration would be supported in a licensed version of the MAS 6000, as the client has no problem paying for the full service. I submitted this question via the product info form on the Mitel website, but simply had my info passed to a local Mitel dealer who knows IP phones, but nothing whatsoever about the 6000. I know far more about the platform than our local Mitel partner...
Any help appreciated.
