Topic: Static IP in Germany

Sorry that this is off record but if you don't ask!!

I've been running an SME server in the UK connected via a Force9 DSL line using the static IP on a home self install and its great.  I'm now moving to Germany (Munich) and I can't get a DSL line with fixed IP for anything less then 200euro a month.  I only pay 22 pounds for F9.

Does anybody now if there is a DSL provider in the Munich area that I could use.  Its only for personal use.

Hi Robert,

While it is not perfect, the dynamic dns method could be the answer to your problem. Have you considered using it instead ?

Hi Robert,

the only way i know is the professional "T-Interconnect".
Costs 140 ¤ a Month plus ~25¤ for 1 GB Traffic.
(including a cisco router)

Save you money, just use D-DNS. And if you were subscribe to service link, you wouldn't have to worry about your IP changing, because it used their Guaranteed E-mail feature. Of course, if it is for personal/home use it does not make sense.
