SME 5.5 / unreal tournament / user nobody
« on: February 01, 2003, 09:36:24 PM »
I'm trying to install the Unreal Tournament Server on SME 5.5 and I've run into a problem when using the recomended "nobody" user. When starting the game server, I get an error stating "This user is not currently available". Everything runs fine when I use "root" as the username in ucc.init. Using "nobody" worked under SME 5.1.2. Any clues as to what I'm missing here ?

have you checked the rights for the user, or try to give him rights in the UT folder.

As described in the how-to, I did a "chown -R nobody" on the game server directory. I suspected the permisions were the issue but I'm very new to this and don't know where to start looking for the info I would need. I'm also reluctant to add permisions to the "nobody" user as I'm sure Mitel took those permisions away for a reason.
