Subdomains mail through main server
« on: September 20, 2002, 10:01:12 PM »
Hi all,

  I want to set up the following:

  * 1 central server, say mycompany.com
  * 13 local offices, say 1.mycompany.com 2.mycompany.com ...

  All the servers go with ESSG 4.1.2, and all have static public IP

  I would like to make all the mail that goes to mycompany.com go trough the central server, once it gets there scan for viruses and then process it. If there is no subdomain, deliver it locally, but if it goes to 1.mycompany.com send it there and let the other server process it and place it in the correct account.

  Please, bear in mind I would like to have all the mail go though the central server as I will be able to implement antivirus and antispam features there, but at the same time I dont want to have to create the users both in the remote office and in the local office. Actually, remote users just shouldnt need to access directly the central server.

  What should I do? Can this be done through the panel "Hostnames and addresses" or the "Virtual Domains" panel or I will need to make some "internall work" :)))

  Thanks in advance. This would mean our biggest implementation of E-Smith ever and want to make a good job :)))

Manuel
