5.1.2 and Authenticated SMTP
« on: August 22, 2002, 05:35:47 PM »
Hi all, wondering if you can answer a question for me.

Running 5.1.2 patched with multipop. I currently use my ISP's SMTP server to deliver mail - however I would like to use the one for my domain name to allow my name to appear with my domain's address

They require authenticated SMTP tho.....

Is there any patches that enable authenticated SMTP, particularly ones that examine the user sending mail and log in to the remote mail server with the correct address?

Thanks

A

Adam, my ISP also requires authentication to use their SMTP server. Did you find a way to do this with e-smith?

Just send mail directly from your mail client to their SMTP server.
