Odd SAMBA log msgs re "hostname mismatch"

In my /var/log/samba folder there are "machinename.log" files and each contains multiple occurrences of the following:

[2002/06/29 12:45:37, 0] lib/util_sock.c:matchname(955)
  host name/name mismatch: pc-00066 != pc-00066.e-smith.mydomainname.com
[2002/06/29 12:45:37, 0] lib/util_sock.c:get_socket_name(1008)
  Matchname failed on pc-00066 192.168.1.66

where pc-00066 is the specific node's IP address and mydomainname.com is the actual (correct) domain name.

Is there anything to these messages? Should I be concerned? Is there a setting I need to look at?

This is a pretty standard e-smith box with very little enhancements, though it has been thru a number (512, 5, & 412) upgrades in its life.
