Topic: switch form server to gateway: problematic??

Hi,
I have an e-smith 4.12 runnign as server only with several sub-domains.

Now, however, I want it to become server and gateway, thus with 2 ethernet cards.

If I change this via the configuration (logging in as admin and so on), will that give troubles?

Is it wise to upgrade first to 5.12 for instance?

hope some of you have done the same or know if it will go smoothly.

You won't have any problems doing this. I've done it myself on 4.1.2, 5.0 and 5.1.2. I would however advise that you upgrade ASAP as there are several mandatory security patches that aren't available for 4.1.2 as well as a few bug fixes.
