802.11 the RIGHT way

I'm just wondering if anyone else has already solved this before I decide to jump into it - Is there a way to configure SME 5.1.2 to have *two* (or more?) "external" interfaces?

The basic problem is that most people gateway their wireless network *inside* their firewall, when it's really more appropriate (at least until something secure replaces WEP) to treat the wireless LAN as being *external*.  Treating the wireless LAN (WLAN) as external also makes it a bit easier to use IPSec/SSH/etc. to encrypt the packet contents, which is a good idea over WLANs.

I've got client now that would be ideal for a WLAN if not for the security problems of 802.11 and their high paranoia level, so if I go wireless, I need asolution for this.  I know this doesn't have to happen in the SME server, but it would be nice...
