Topic: tape backup of e-smith on novell machine

hi all
we have a novell netware version 5.x server with a tape back up unit in it
this machine is the file server and does a daily tape backup
i want to use this machine to backup the e-smith email server we use
is this possible?
if so, how do i go about doing this?

Hi Scott,

Firstly what backup software do you run on your Novell server - SBackup or Backup Exec....?

It depends mainly on what software your run.... Backup exec has the facility for remote backups as long as you install the backup client on the remote pc eg windows 95, Unix etc.

I am not sure how this can be done on a e-smith - I do know that there are a few backup solutions the supply these functions (www.tapeware.com , www.veritas.com)

If you have Backup Exec v8.5 Single-Server Edition you simply need to upgrade to the Multi-Server Edition which includes a backup agent for Linux.  If you have the Multi-Server Edition, read the manual
