using an e-smith box as a dial in server??
« on: January 31, 2001, 05:32:51 PM »
hi,

i have no idea whether this question has been answered before, but i couldn't find anything doing a search. basically, the problem is thus: we have a e-smith box doing the nat thing at an internet cafe, hosting web site etc.. now my boss wants to dial in to the box from home, so he doesn't have to pay for an ordinary dialup account. i'm pretty sure this would be doable, but is there an easy, rpm-based way of doing it, or do i have to manually configure it? also, problem no. 2: we'll soon be switching to adsl, and i've got a suspicion that it's going to use PPPoE, thus i will have to configure some dial up settings within the e-smith manager. here's the problem: assuming i can configure the e-smith box to accept dial in connections, is that going to screw with the adsl dial out settings?

hoping someone can provide a solution,

zac.
