I find the Sogo project very interesting I therefore tried to setup a test machines. I installed SME 8 final and ran a yum update. Then followed the http://wiki.contribs.org/Sogo (needed the memcached fix).

Everything seems to work fine. I can sync mail, calendar and contacts to thunderbird.

But… when I use the Danish letter æøå in a calendar description or title and saves, the descriptionor title is deleted the next time I open the calendar item. I looked in the /var/log/sogo/sogo.log, but cannot seem to find any obvious clues.

I searched the installation manual and found that database should be created with utf8 character set. That is not the case with the smeserver-sogo package.
http://www.sogo.nu/files/docs/SOGo%20Installation%20Guide.pdf

I cannot find the contribs in bugzilla, nor an email-address of the developer. I don’t know how to change the character set for the sogo database or to change the rpm package.

So I am kind of stuck.
Can anybody help?

This is an encoding problem. You can get it to work if your force your web browser to use UTF-8, and you can fix it permanently adding something like this in apache template for SOGo (in the <Location /SOGo> section)

AddDefaultCharset UTF-8
C'est la fin du monde !!!

You are absolutely right.
Forcing the browser to use utf-8 solves the problem.

And adding AddDefaultCharset UTF-8
To /etc/e-smith/templates/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf/85SOGoAccess
Line 12
Helps permanently.

Thanks a lot
