Network hardware list for SME-Server V6

I'm quite a noob in Linux but i'm a bit stubburn trying different hw-configurations and distributions.
My favorite for the moment are the SME-Server concept were you easily finds a lot of information on the net written by folks often in easy follow instructions.

Well inspite this i have to file a query.

Are there anyone who had made a hw compability listning of network interfaces for SME-Server V6 ( the drivers included in the release and wich cards they support)?

I am interested in wifi cards or USB-wifi adapters.

I looked at RH/Fedora site but the structure there are a mess so i couldnt find anything stable in the information flow there.

Although i've found for SME-Server V5 this link http://www.lth5.k12.il.us/e-smith/supportedenet.htm
and another useful link http://users.linpro.no/janl/hardware/wifi.html but as a noob i cant get the information together.

Couldnt a SME-professional file a list in the forum with the supported NIC:s in the V6 of SME-server in a format like the http://www.lth5.k12.il.us/e-smith/supportedenet.htm or some thing likely?

At last i want to thank you all contributors of the SME-concept for a very nice distribution. Easy to install 30min for a SME V6 with tikiwiki from scratch.

Then you got a heavy structured server with 2 ibays, webmail, pretty good security and info by the tikiwiki.

Hi IceDizzy,

It's a big and kinda thankless task to do as you request. SME will support any network hardware that it has a chipset driver for. As many cards share the same chipset it's better to look at it that way. Have a look on your SME server in /lib/modules/2.4.20-18.7/kernel/drivers/net to see what's supported out of the box.

If you need a specific driver, you may need to compile it up so if you're looking before buying, check out cards which have already been proven under RedHat 7.X.

You don't need a wireless nework card if you just buy one of these, for not much more than the price of a wireless network card...
