Try setting the "Wins client" Ip address of the VPN network connection to the Ip address of the SME server.

I have also tried the Samba 3 rpms, and that seemed to help as well. however I can't find a link to them now.

Your mileage may vary....

If you still want to bridge, check the OpenVPN thread.

OpenVPN includes a bridge startup script that worked for me.(/usr/share/openvpn/sample-scripts) You only have to install bridge-utils-0.9.6-46.i586.rpm (www.rpmfind.net)

I couldn't find that one just now, and the howto at swerts-knudsen.dk won't come up
Do you have link to that thread?

Might be an idea to create some sort of howto for OpenVPN, which seems really popular, right here on contribs..?

I wasn't. If you read the original post you'll see that the questioner wanted to make his VPN "client" see shares on his server. I read that to mean that the client machine [ie workstation] from which the VPN is originated should be able to connect to ibay shares. Windows client machines can, with no alterations except using a valid username and password.

..no flame intended there...
Well, if windows is able to connect to those shares anyway.. there wouldn't be a problem?

Evikali, just wondering, what client are you using?
