TIPS for Spam
« on: December 13, 2015, 02:40:50 AM »
As our mail server is a big organization, we have a lot of SPAMS each days.
Currently our SPAM configuration is :
  • Sensibility : HIGH
  • Level: 6/6

In addition E-mail WBL is installed with RHSBL Active.
DNSBL -> is disabled because it will refuse a lot of emails that we should get !

So I advice you moreover of this configuration to always check the 'IP' Spammer and checking the origin of the IP with this web tool : https://www.countryipblocks.net/

I Suggest you to block country IP that you may not receive any email.

From example, our 70% of our Spam come from Vietnam, so I took all the CIDR IP and block it with IPTABLES.

Our SPams decreases a lot with IPTABLES...

just an advice

I gave up on trying to block spam on my SME server and, on the suggestion of someone else here, signed up with spamhero.com.  They're a hosted spam-blocking system that costs $5/mo per domain (and any alias domains are included for free), and they have a 30-day free trial.  I went from hundreds of spam messages per day, to single digits.  Just something to consider.

I have been using spamhero for about 3 months, and love it. I shows about 3/4 of the stuff trying to come to my users is spam, and it blocks it
If you think you know whats going on, you obviously have no idea whats going on!
